The Master’s Degree in Psycho-educational Research and Intervention aims to provide professional training through initial research, since it is designed around the concept of intervention based on scientific evidence. With this basis, the programme has a common core focused on research tools that enable analysis, comprehension and production of external (research) and internal (research-action) evidence. This common core then materialises in one of the five educational intervention specialisations:
1. Early Childhood, Family and Quality of Life. This specialisation focuses on research into intervention in early childhood. It aims to train professionals interested in early childhood support in education (early childhood and primary school teachers and support professionals, etc. and pedagogues and psycho-pedagogues), the social sphere (social educators and workers) and health (psychologists, paediatric nurses, etc.).
2. Inclusive Education. This specialisation provides specific training to design, apply and assess inclusive education proposals and plans. It aims to train graduate professionals in another profession (regulated categories such as early childhood and primary school teachers, secondary school teachers, and non-regulated categories such as social educator, social worker, etc.) who are interested in supporting individuals at risk of social exclusion and/or exclusion in education.
3. Psycho-pedagogical Support for Educational Needs. This specialisation trains future professionals in different educational needs, with a view to supporting all children to suitably make progression based on the specific needs of each pupil in an educational setting. It is aimed at graduates and professionals in the clinical sphere (psychologists), as well as those in education (including psycho-pedagogues, pedagogues, and teachers in hearing and speech, therapeutic pedagogy, early childhood and primary education).
4. School and Work Transitions. This specialisation trains future professionals in support measures for school and work transitions, with a special focus on those with lower levels of education. It is aimed at professionals who are interested in transitions in education and prevention measures for early school leaving, as well as returning to education, whether they be social educators, social workers, psychologists, pedagogues or schoolteachers.
5. Empowerment, Education and Community Development. This specialisation offers advanced training in research for intervention involving empowerment, education and community development. It is aimed at professionals who are particularly interested in community intervention based on empowerment, whether they be social workers, social educators, pedagogues or psychologists.
What career opportunities will you have?
The programme takes a dual approach to academic and professional goals. On the one hand, it provides a solid theoretical and scientific foundation for students who wish to follow a professional future in psychoeducational interventions, with a sound scientific basis in the education, psychology and social work spheres. It offers a wide variety of specialisation options based on students’ specific interests.
On the other, the programme is also designed as a platform for a research career, granting future access to the PhD in Education programme and authoring a doctoral thesis. There are several mobility programmes available to spend time at other universities, as well as access to pre-doctoral grants for particularly gifted students.
High-quality official study
Legislation requires that official Spanish degree programmes receive a positive assessment from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA, by its Spanish acronym). This process is known as verification, and it serves to ensure that education programmes are properly designed to provide the competencies and reach the learning goals around which the programmes are built. In the results you can find reports on official study programmes.
The European Higher Education Area requires that there be a system in place to ensure the quality of degree programmes .
The Master's programme is subject to constant assessment and improvement processes that guarantee that it maintains a certain level of prestige and renown in Europe. You can see the results of the assessment processes in the section on quality .
