AEI Area: Materials Science and Technology (MAT)

Research lines:

• Solid-solid transformations. Martensitic transformation in alloys with a form memory (AMF).
• Structural and microstructural characterization of materials. Techniques: calorimetrics (conventional and high resolution DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), resonance ultrasonic dilatometrics, microscopy (optical, electronic tracing, electronic transmission), microanalysis, X-ray diffraction.
• AMF aspects: temperature and effort-induced transformation. Martensite structures. Mechanical properties. Thermodynamic behavior under thermomechanical treatments. High transformation temperature alloys. Martensite stabilization. Inter-phase attenuation and blocking properties. Development of new ferromagnetic alloys with form memory
