The Degree in Psychology aims to train competent, versatile professionals who promote and improve quality of life for all individuals and across all areas, as set out in the future regulatory act governing the skills and responsibilities of graduates in psychology.
It also aims to ensure students are fully prepared for subsequent postgraduate training in clinical practice and health, e.g. the Master's in General Health Psychology, as well as in the areas of education, employment and enterprise, and social intervention.
For a general overview of the different professional profiles in psychology, please see the information provided by the Spanish General Council of Psychology.
In turn, the increased social demand for professional psychologists has led to new job opportunities for graduates and those with postgraduate qualifications in different specialisations. This new reality drove the Conference of Deans of Psychology at Spanish Universities to produce an updated document on professional categories and opportunities in 2015.
What skills will you acquire?
The main objective of the degree programme in psychology is to train professionals with the basic scientific knowledge necessary to understand, interpret, analyse, and explain human behaviour, and the basic skills and abilities needed to evaluate and intervene in the on the social and individual level throughout the different stages of life in order to promote and improve health and the quality of life.
What profile should you have?
The Degree in Psychology is aimed at students in Health Sciences, although access is not restricted to other areas of knowledge. Language skills in English are also important, at least for reading texts and using basic IT tools.

High-quality official study
Legislation requires that official Spanish Degrees receive positive evaluations by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). This process is called verification, and it serves to ensure that the development programme in which you will participate will provide the skills and learning results that it is supposed to.
