The goal of this study programme is to train professionals with the scientific knowledge necessary to carry out activities regarding: the promotion of being and staying healthy, the prevention of illnesses and diseases, and the treatment and rehabilitation of people with health problems.
The programme in Medicine authorises graduates to work in a regulated profession. They are therefore designed in accordance with the requirements set out in Order ECI/332/2008.

- Lecture and research at universities and research centres, etc.
- Join and lead clinical management projects: quality, efficiency, resource management and satisfaction

What profile should you have?
We recommend that students who wish to study this degree have:
- Dedication to service and solidarity with others;
- The ability to work in a team and leadership skills;
- Knowledge of scientific basics in chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics;
- Comprehensive reading abilities in the official languages of the autonomous community (Catalan and Spanish) as well as basic skills in English;
- Discipline and the ability to handle constant work and study.

Graduates from the medicine study programme can develop their careers in the healthcare, teaching, research, and management sectors. Medicine is a regulated closed health profession with many employment opportunities.
Upon finishing the programme, graduates are able to:
- Access specialized medical training;
- Professionally practice medicine;
- Carry out activities in the framework of healthcare institutions: hospitals, health centres, private clinics, private practices, etc.;
- Teach and do research at universities and research centres; and
- Carry out activities related to healthcare management, preventative healthcare measures and promotion of health, and healthcare planning.
