It comprises adapting the curricula from mathematics and informatics into a single pathway. In this sense, in addition to receiving the inherent training from each degree programme, students garner a multidisciplinary overview of both fields—a distinctive feature of this double degree programme.
What skills will you acquire?
The double degree programme covers all skills and abilities on both degrees. Thanks to a solid grounding in math theory, it enables students to apply all modelling tools to analyse and solve computing problems.
In turn, and thanks to the computing knowledge provided, the training in mathematics is supplemented in its most applied aspect. This means the programme trains highly qualified professionals to design, develop and maintain computer equipment and applications; process, analyse and utilise data; and use solutions based on artificial intelligence, IT security and system administration.
What profile should you have?
- The ability to make decisions and solve problems
- The ability for abstract and logical reasoning
- The ability to work in a team
- Consistency and initiative
- The ability to understand, analyse and summarise.
What career opportunities will you have?
Graduates will be able to work at any sector business: data centres, research centres, financial institutions, software development, telecommunication, technology, security and IT consulting companies. They will be qualified to undertake general management and supervisory posts at these public or private institutions in IT departments, system security, data analysis, system consulting and IT system analysis, as well as work as freelance consultants, software developers, videogame developers, in web services, etc. They may also take up teaching or research positions.
Travel and Learn
The UIB offers students the chance to take part in different exchange and mobility programmes:
- Exchange and mobility programmes: to complete part of your studies at another university in Spain, the European Union, and around the world, or to get work experience at businesses in the European Union, managed by the International Relations Service.
- Volunteer work experience and projects with university development cooperation programmes in least developed countries, run through the development cooperation programmes managed by the Cooperation for Development and Solidarity Office (OCDS).
High-quality official study
Legislation requires that official Spanish Degrees receive positive evaluations by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). This process is called verification, and it serves to ensure that the development programme in which you will participate will provide the skills and learning results that it is supposed to.
The European Higher Education Area requires that a system be in place to ensure the quality of degree programmes .
Bachelor's programmes are subject to assessment and are continuously improved upon in order to guarantee their prestige and recognition within Europe. You can see the results of the assessments at results section .
