Events in recent years linked to globalisation, migration and cuts to health systems require review and deep reflection on the notions of health from a global and local perspective. In addition, the role of health policies and institutions that provide these services need to be analysed. Research and innovation in health must face up to and be part of these challenges, as health professionals and researchers can promote action for improvement based on their experience and knowledge with a cross-cutting and interdisciplinary approach.
The Master’s Degree in Health Research and Innovation aims to provide a response to these new demands by offering advanced, specialised and multidisciplinary training. The programme is organised into two specialisations: Global Public Health and Transfer and Improvement at Health Organisations. These areas will contribute to rounding out the learning of students who wish to orient their professional futures towards research and its subsequent practical application in health-related fields.
What career opportunities will you have?
The Master’s Degree in Health Research and Innovation at the University of the Balearic Islands will train students to undertake tasks linked to public health, and health research and management in different areas including universities, national, regional and local health authorities, the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, the Carlos III Institute for Health, public health agencies, regional departments of health, health centres and hospitals, social services, etc.
The programme also provides access to the PhD Programme in Global Health, Health Services and Health and Social Care at the University of the Balearic Islands, as well as any PhD programme in health sciences.
High-quality official study
Legislation requires that official Spanish degree programmes receive a positive assessment from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA, by its Spanish acronym). This process is known as verification, and it serves to ensure that education programmes are properly designed to provide the competencies and reach the learning goals around which the programmes are built. In the results you can find reports on official study programmes.
The European Higher Education Area requires that there be a system in place to ensure the quality of degree programmes .
The Master's programme is subject to constant assessment and improvement processes that guarantee that it maintains a certain level of prestige and renown in Europe. You can see the results of the assessment processes in the section on quality .
