Degree in Construction
This degree leads students towards obtaining approval to practice as a quantity surveyor/building engineer.
Graduates will be able to direct the physical construction in building projects; run the finances of the project; draft safety and health plans; carry out technical calculations, assessments, and economic feasibility studies; survey plots of land and buildings; use new building technologies; participate in quality management during construction; direct and manage building maintenance; provide advice on the fabrication of materials and elements used in the construction of buildings; manage the real estate process in all of its stages; and be a technical representative for construction companies during building projects.
The professional and/or Academic Career Pathways are the inherent paths for the regulated profession of Engineer in Construction and Quantity Surveyor (according to the Council of Ministers Agreement of 14th December 2007). More specifically, exercising the profession in the area of building construction, public administration, and performing different management, supervision and leadership duties at private companies.
The UIB offers students the chance to take part in different exchange and mobility programmes:
- Exchange and mobility programmes: to complete part of your studies at another university in Spain, the European Union, and around the world, or to get work experience at businesses in the European Union, managed by the International Relations Service.
- Volunteer work experience and projects with university development cooperation programmes in least developed countries, run through the development cooperation programmes managed by the Cooperation for Development and Solidarity Office (OCDS).
High-quality official study
Legislation requires that official Spanish Degrees receive positive evaluations by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). This process is called verification, and it serves to ensure that the development programme in which you will participate will provide the skills and learning results that it is supposed to.
The European Higher Education Area requires that a system be in place to ensure the quality of degree programmes.
