Training and career:
Bachelor (2004) and Doctor (2011) in Geography from the University of Salamanca with extraordinary prize. Postdoctoral fellow at the Institute des Sciences de l'Environment (University of Geneva, 2012-2014). Researcher Juan de la Cierva at the Pyrenean Institute of Ecology-CSIC (2014-2015). Research stays at the Colorado State University (USA) and at the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Environmental Studies of Colombia. Professor in the Department of Geography of the University of the Balearic Islands since 2015.
My lines of research cover the interactions between climate and hydrological systems in the context of global change. The objective is to deepen knowledge about the possible impacts of climate change and changes in land use on water resources in areas of high environmental sensitivity, such as the Mediterranean basin, and mountain regions.
Most recent research projects:
- MARGINAL SNOW: Present and future of marginal snowpacks and their hydrological and environmental influence (2023-2026). Ministry of Science and Innovation
- Environmental flows of torrents on the island of Menorca (2022-2024). Government of the Balearic Islands
- HIDROIBERNIEVE. The role of snow in the hydrology of the Iberian Peninsula and its response to global change processes (2018-2021). Ministry of Science and Innovation
