Brief CV
Assumpta Serra Moranta is a lecturer in philosophy at the University of the Balearic Islands. She has been teaching contemporary philosophy at this institution since 2022. She is currently researching on the revolutionary role of aesthetic experience in contemporaneity, based on the thought of Walter Benjamin and Jacques Rancière. Research accompanied by the supervision of Professor Mateu Cabot. She combines academic research and teaching, with the management of cultural projects, especially in the field of performing and visual arts.
Her academic background: Degree in Humanities at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2019), Master in Contemporary Thought and Classical Tradition at the Universitat de Barcelona (2021), Master in Teacher Training (2022), and Master in Cultural Management at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2023). Among other formations on pedagogy, arts and humanities. She also has musical studies in the specialty of lyrical singing at the Conservatory of Mallorca.
She is currently a member of the research group in modern and contemporary philosophy Epokhé and also of the Cultural Tourism Laboratory of the Universitat de les Illes Balears. Some of her research interests include: sensibility in front of the new expressive and communication media, the role of imagination and memory in the construction of experience, the role of fiction in the narrative of history, interpretation - hermeneutics in literature, art and history.
