Brief CV

Valencia (1975), Dr. Agricultural Engineering (UPV).

Since 2001 he works as a technician in the Plant Health Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. He is an active member of the Spanish Society of Phytopathology (SEF) and of the Specialized Group in Detection, Diagnosis and Identification (GEDDI). He has publications related to plant pathology in international journals of impact such as Plant Disease, European Journal of Plant Patohology, Personia, or Commsbio (Nature) as well as communications in national and international conferences. He joined teaching as associate professor of Plant Pathology in the 2013-2014 academic year in the Degree in Agri-Food Engineering and the Natural Environment, and in 2015 in the Master of Engineering in Agronomy. He has directed several final degree and master's degree projects. He collaborates in different national research projects related to plant pathology. Together with his team, he was responsible for the first detection in Spain of the phytopathogenic bacterium Xylella fastidiosa, in samples of cherry trees and Polygala from Portocristo (Manacor) in 2016. From that moment on, his recent research focuses mainly on improving the detection and diagnosis of diseases caused by this organism, as well as in the development of eradication, containment and control strategies.
