Brief CV

Marina Pérez-Martín holds a BA in English Studies (2019-2023) from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) (Spain), where she was honored with the Premi Extraordinari de Grau (Best Degree Student Award). In 2022, she participated in the Erasmus program at University College Cork, Ireland. In 2024, she earned an MA in Modern Languages and Literatures with a specialization in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, also from the University of the Balearic Islands. That same year, she was awarded a four-year predoctoral grant from the Government of the Balearic Islands (FPU-CAIB2024) and became a member of the research group Variation in English Worldwide (ViEW) at the University of Vigo. She is currently enrolled in the PhD Programme in Philology and Philosophy at UIB, where she is actively conducting research. Her main interests include English morphology, syntax, and pragmatics within the field of World Englishes, with a particular focus on Gibraltar English.
