Dr. Sebastià Galmés holds a PhD in Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and an official master's degree in the same program. He is currently a researcher in the group 'NuBE', led by Prof. Catalina Picó. He has proven experience in research in the field of Nutrigenetics and Personalized Nutrition: his doctoral thesis, entitled 'Nutrigenetic Study of Obesity in the population of Mallorca' was based on the analysis of interactions between genetics and nutrition associated with the obesity phenotype and cardiovascular risk in the population of Mallorca; He is also the co-author of the article 'Current State of Evidence: Influence of Nutritional and Nutrigenetic Factors on Immunity in the COVID-19 Pandemic Framework' (Nutrients, doi: 10.3390/nu12092738) which highlights the importance of nutrigenetics in the field of COVID-19.
