Brief CV
I am currently employed as a 'Beatriz Galindo' distinguished researcher at IFISC (Instituto de Física Interdisciplinar y Sistemas Complejos) in Palma de Mallorca. I earned my degree in Physics in 2002 (under the supervision of Prof. P. Mataloni) and my Ph. D. in Physics in 2006 (under the supervision of Prof. F. de Pasquale) at 'La Sapienza' University in Roma. Then, I had my first postdoctoral experience in Roma at the 'Centre of Statistical Mechanics and Complexity' (SMC). Afterwards, at the beginning of 2009, I got a Juan de la Cierva fellowship and moved to Palma de Mallorca at IFISC. Then, at the beginning of 2012, I got a postdoctoral position in Ireland (University College Cork) and from November 2012 to April 2013, I was employed as a postdoc at the Universitaet des Saarlandes in Saarbruecken (Germany). Afterwards, I moved to Torino (Italy) working as a fixed-term lecturer from May 2013 to April 2015. Then, I moved back to Palma de Mallorca.
My research activity has been focused on different facets of quantum information theory, considering applications in different fields, such as quantum optics, solid state systems, atomic systems, ions, etc. Particularly during the last years, I also started to study interdisciplinary aspects of quantum information, such as quantum coherence in biology, information and quantum thermodynamics, and synchronization in the quantum realm. In the last years, my main scientific subject has been the use of quantum complex systems for machine-learning purposes, with special a focus on quantum reservoir computing.
I am the author of 52 ISI articles. At the present time, my Scopus (Google Scholar) h-index is 22 (27) and the total number of Scopus (Google Scholar) citations is 1451 (2070).
