Her professional activity developed initially as a legal officer specialized in international law and human rights at the UN, where she worked for more than 10 years on human trafficking, racial and gender discrimination and access to justice. In this context, she carried out research work and fact-finding missions in the field (Africa, Asia, Latin America) and participated in intergovernmental conferences and expert seminars. In her last years in the UN, she has been responsible for coordinating the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons.
In 2013 she joined the UIB, where she is a professor of Public International Law at the Faculty of Law and a professor in the Master's degree in equality policies and prevention of gender violence. Her publications and other research, training and counseling activities have predominantly focused on human trafficking, gender discrimination, migration and asylum, and minors' access to online pornography. In 2022, she directed the 'Study on pornography in the Balearic Islands: access and impact on adolescence, applicable international and national law and technological solutions for control and blocking', which was presented in 2023 before the regional Parliament.
She participates in national and regional research projects and is a member of the UIB Research Group on International Law and European Union Law, as well as a collaborator of the UIB Gender Studies Research Group. She is co-director of the UIB course 'University expert on social intervention in situations of trafficking and prostitution', in which she also teaches, and secretary of the 'Interdisciplinary Laboratory on rights and freedoms of the Balearic Islands' (LIDIB) of the Faculty of Law.
