Ms. Laura Oliver Guimerá (Palma, 1960) holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters, Geography and History, General History section, from the UIB (1982) and a postgraduate degree in Heritage Interpretation from the UOC.
She has worked as a teacher at the School of Hotel Management of the Balearic Islands (EHIB) since the 1998-1999 academic year. In the academic year 2023-24 she is the sotsdirector of the EHIB. She has taught the subject World Geography of Tourism I at the University School of Hotel Management of the Balearic Islands (EUHIB). She has taught geography, history, cultural heritage and tourism in the EHIB's own studies of International Hotel Management, Specialists in Accommodation and Hotel Marketing, Specialists in Cuisine and Specialists in Catering, subjects: Culture of the Balearic Islands, European Culture, Cultural Heritage, International Tourism, Geography of Tourism, Introduction to Tourism. She has been the coordinator of the subject Final Project of the degree in International Hotel Management for 10 years.
She has been the sub-director of the Escola d'Hoteleria de les Illes Balears since the academic year 2011- 2012, up to and including the academic year 2014- 2015.
She has worked in the management of practices of occupational training courses for the occupation of the Balearic Islands Occupation Service (SOIB) from the academic year 2015-2016 to the academic year 2019-2020.
She has produced teaching materials for the UOC and has teaching experience as a consultant for the UOC.
She has also worked as a temporary civil servant for the Ministry of Education and Science from 1989 to 1993 as a teacher of Primary and Secondary Education.
