PhD, Advanced English Studies (2023)

I completed my Doctoral dissertation at the Universidad de Salamanca, where I worked as a graduate research and teaching fellow [Personal Investigador en Formación] under a four-and-a-half-year national competitive scholarship [FPU]. My research has focused on sff studies, broadly speaking, and in the representation and analysis of postumanist motifs and philosophy in contemporary Canadian narrative. I am a research member of the nationally-funded R+D+i research group Narrating Resilience, Achieving Happiness?, with a focus on the cultural narratology/ies of resilience and vulnerability, and of the national research group Celsius 233, Estudios Culturales, devoted to the interdisciplinary analysis of speculative fiction. Since 2021, I am also a Spanish co-representative for the Science Fiction Research Association.

Previous research groups:

  • Narrativas de resiliencia (GIR/national, as graduate research and teaching fellow)
  • Narrativas de resiliencia: enfoques interseccionales sobre literatura y otras representaciones culturales contemporáneas (nationally-funded international R+D+i, as graduate research and teaching fellow)
  • La desigualdad económica en la España contemporánea y sus efectos en los mercados, las empresas y el acceso a los recursos naturales y a la tierra (nationally-funded international R+D+i, collaboration)
