Edwin Palacio has received his Ph.D in Environmental Sciences (Analytical Chemistry) in 2010 from the University of Aix-Marseille, France. He is co-author of 30 publications in international peer-reviewed JCR journals (h-index: 11) and 2 international patents. He has been involved in 19 National and International Research Projects funded by the Spanish MINECO and Govern de les Illes Balears. Currently is an Associate Professor in the area of Analytical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry of the University of the Balearic Islands and he is also deputy head of the Laboratory of Environmental Analytical Chemistry of the same university.

His research interest is focused on (i) the development of sample preparation and analytical methods for the determination of trace, ultratrace and radiochemical elements and (ii) the implementation of environmental studies on the presence and distribution of pollutants.
