Curriculum
Brief CV
I graduated in Physics in 2015 from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Afterward, I completed the Master's in Advanced Physics and Applied Mathematics (specializing in astrophysics and relativity) at the UIB. My master's thesis focused on the analysis of data from the LIGO detectors. Following the master's program, I earned my PhD in Physics at the UIB.
My research has been predominantly centered on searching for continuous gravitational waves (CWs), a type of gravitational wave yet to be detected. CWs originate mainly from neutron stars, and can be detected with the usage of data from ground-based interferometers such as Advanced LIGO. During my PhD I was a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration and also of the LIGO Science Instrument authors. My involvement in various projects within the CW field has covered a broad spectrum, encompassing the development of more efficient and sensitive methods to carry out CW searches, the characterization and removal of various noise sources present in these ground-based detectors (during my stays at the LIGO Hanford observatory), and the execution of several searches, both for unknown isolated neutron stars and for unknown neutron stars in binary systems. Through these different projects I have gained a varied set of skills and knowledge, including proficiency in statistics and programming.
Since 30/12/2024 I have been an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and belong to the GRAVITY research group.
