Brief CV
I received my Bachelor's degree in physics (Licenciatura) in 2010 and my Master degree in Fundamental Physics in 2011 both from Complutense University in Madrid (Spain). I did my Master thesis work on quantum synchronization under the supervision of Prof. Roberta Zambrini from IFISC (Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems) in Mallorca (Spain), which whom I worked as a research assistant supported by different collaboration contracts during 2011 and 2012. Then I obtained a FPI fellowship for doing my PhD in physics at Complutense University under the join supervision of Prof. Juan M. R. Parrondo and Prof. Roberta Zambrini.
I obtained my PhD on 11 July 2017. During this period I did a research stay for a total of 4 months at HH. Wills Physics Laboratory at University of Bristol (UK) under the supervision of Prof. Sandu Popescu. My thesis dissertation, "Thermodynamics and Synchronization in Open Quantum Systems", was qualified with the highest mark, and I have had the honor to be awarded with the international Springer Thesis Prize, which allowed the publication of my dissertation as a book in 2018.
After finishing my PhD, I did a short Postdoc at IFISC and then I moved during April 2018 to The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste (Italy), where I have worked as a Postdoctoral researcher until August 2020 in the team of Prof. Rosario Fazio, partially supported by a fellowship from Scuola Normal Superiore di Pisa. During summer 2020 I have been awarded a ESQ Postdoc Fellowship from the European H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie program for going to the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) Vienna, of the Austrian Academy of Science, where I have been working from September 2020 to April 2021 in the group of Caslav Brukner. In May 2021 I moved back to IFISC to work as a Juan de la Cierva (Incorporación) postdoctoral researcher, and from January 2023 I am Ramón y Cajal (tenure-track) researcher. This allowed me to develop my own project as PI, together with the help of an "Atracción de Talento" CSIC award for being selected the 8th in the RyC physical sciences ranking for young researchers. Since September 2023 I am also co-PI of the national plan "Generación de Conocimiento" project CoQuSy.
I am author of 27 JRC articles, including a recent review article. The vast majority of my articles are in Q1 (including 2 PRX, 3 PRL, 1 PRX Quantum, 1 Commun. Phys., etc). I am the first author in 17 of them (in 2 of which I am the only author), the second author in 7 of them, and the last author in 1 of them. Three of my articles have been highlighted as Editors' suggestion or featured articles. I also published 1 book. My research has been cited around 1600 times and my h-index is currently 21 (Google Scholar).
I presented the results of my research in more than 30 conferences and workshops including 5 invited talks and 18 contributed talks. I have been also invited to visit several international research institutions, such as the University of Geneva (11/2017), the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information at Vienna (09/2018), Universitá degli studi di Palermo (06/2019), University of Vienna (02/2020 and 04/2022) or Universidad de Los Andes and Universidad Nacional in Bogota, Colombia (10/2023). I had the opportunity to collaborate with several international researchers from more than 10 leading research institutions in the world.
