Brief CV
Albert Flexas obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Ph. Doctorate from the University of Balearic Islands (UIB). His Ph. D. activity focused on the biological bases of the processes of aesthetic appreciation (neuroaesthetics) and moral cognition (neuroethics). He obtained the extraordinary doctoral award for the 2013-14 biennium in the Cognition and Human Evolution doctoral program. Also in 2014, he obtained the accreditation to work as a psychologist in private healthcare units and authorized psychology consultations in the Balearic Islands. The certification was extended to the whole of Spain in 2018.
Albert Flexas has also experience in entrepreneurship and storytelling. He founded Mallorca Creativa, an idea lab where he works as a screenwriter and audiovisual producer. Some of his short films were awarded at international film festivals and screened in cities like London, Zagreb, Hong Kong, Singapore, Houston, and Los Angeles. His experience has been applied to training capsules on teaching innovation, marketing and entrepreneurship consulting. In this vein, he was a professor of Marketing in the Degree in Advertising and Public Relations at the Alberta Giménez Higher Education Center (2015).
In 2015 he moved to Burgos to work as Director of the Degree in Psychology at the Isabel I University, actively participating in all processes of academic management, teaching innovation, and quality control, in addition to teaching subjects related to psychology professional practice, neuropsychology, and communication.
By the end of 2017, he returned to the UIB as Visiting Professor in the Department of Psychology and is currently a lecturer in the Department of Applied Pedagogy and Educational Psychology. As a member of the research group on Development, Education and Language (i+DEL), his current main interest is human development and moral cognition.
