Degree in Mathematics (2008), Master in Mathematics (2009) and PhD in Mathematics (2012) by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) with the PhD thesis entitled 'Contributions to the study of fuzzy implications. New constructions and applications to image analysis'. Since 2011, Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, UIB. Currently, Associate Professor. He taught some subjects at the Degrees in Mathematics, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Business Administration, at the Master's Degree in Information Technology and at the Master's Degree in Big Data Analysis in Economics and Business. He is currently co-director of the Master's in Intelligent Systems.
His research has focused on the field of Fuzzy Logic and Information Fusion, especially in logical connectives (fuzzy implications and aggregation functions), functional equations and fuzzy mathematical morphology and its applications in image processing. This research work has resulted in 29 publications in journals with impact factor (22 in the first quartile), in 26 papers in other journals and book chapters, as well as in other 55 communications presented at national and international conferences. He is reviewer of several benchmark journals in the field, a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Approximate Reasoning and the International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems and has organized several special sessions at conferences. He is a member of the research group 'Soft Computing, Image Processing and Aggregation', member of the 'Balearic Islands Health Research Institute' and member of the Board of the 'European Society of Fuzzy Logic and Technology' (EUSFLAT).
