Dra. MARIA ELENA CUARTERO CASTAÑER holds a Diploma in Social Work from the University of the Balearic Islands (2009). He studied the Master in Social Sciences Applied to Social and Health Care at the UIB. He has a postgraduate degree in Family Systemic Intervention certified by the KINE family and couple therapy centre. In the same centre, he studied for a second postgraduate degree in Brief Strategic Intervention and expert in Systemic Interventions. In 2016 he obtained a Master's degree in Mediation of Family, Civil and Commercial Conflicts. In 2018 he studied Narrative Therapy in Pranas Chile. She has a PhD in Psychology from the UIB.

She has been a professor in the area of ​​Social Work and Social Services at the UIB since 2010, where she has taught the subjects: Methodology of intervention in Social Work of Cases, Individual Dimension of Social Work of Cases, Family Dimension in Social Work of Cases, Dependency and Vulnerability, Analysis of the Family System of Origin, Strategic Intervention focused on the Problem and Final Degree Work.

He has a predoctoral stay at the Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile (2018) and a postdoctoral stay at the University of Kent in the United Kingdom (2019).

He is an active member of the research group Cambio, Conflicto y Trabajo Social, and the Laboratory of mediation, conflict resolution and family guidance of the UIB.
