Born in 1986 (Santanyi, Mallorca). Degree in Mathematics (2010) by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Master in Advanced Mathematics and Mathematical Engineering (2011) by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and PhD in Mathematics (2017) by the UIB, under the supervision of Dr. Gabriel Cardona Juanals.

After being Assistant and Assistant Doctor, since 2019 he is tenure-track Associate Professor at the Departament of Mathematics and Computer Science at the UIB.

He is member of the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (BIOCOM) research group. His main line of research focuses on the algebraic and combinatorial study of mathematical models for the comparison and reconstruction of graphs related to phylogenetics. He also involved in the study of new methods for the prediction of taxonomy and associated host in viral sequences. As a result of this research, he has published several articles in international journals indexed in the JCR accessible in Scholar.

To improve his training he has done research stays at the Joint Genome Institute (Wallnut Creek, California, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Nikos Kyrpides; at the Biomathematics Research Centre (University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand) under the supervision of Prof. Mike Steel; and at the Institut des Sciences de l'Evolution (Université Montpellier, Montpellier, France) under the supervision of Prof. Celine Scornavacca.

He has taught courses in undergraduate and graduate studies in mathematics and computer science, mainly in the field of algebra and discrete mathematics.
