Dr. Miquel Barceló is PhD in Chemistry by the UIB and was a postdoc at University of Zurich.
He is professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Chemistry Department since 2008.
His research is devoted to the study of metal ions interacting with molecules with biological/pharmacological interest, to the crystallography and, mainly, to the study of RNA riboswitches.
He is part of the Bioinorganic and Bioorganic Chemistry Research Group.
He has presented more than 50 communications at conferences (mainly internationals), with and Invited Lecture at ICBIC-19 (Switzerland 2019) and Oral Communications at EuroBIC-13 (Hungary 2016), ISABC-13 (Irland 2015), EuroBIC-12 (Switzerland 2014) and XI International Symposium on Inorganic Biochemistry (Poland 2010).
He has published 41 research papers, 2 conference proceedings, 2 review papers and 1 book's chapter, in impact journals, which have received 779 citations (two most cited papers have received 84 and 72 citations, respectively), and his H index is 16.
