Ramón Pujol (Palma, 1978) holds a degree in Physics (2003) and a PhD in Physics from the University of the Balearic Islands (2012).

Assistant Professor (2008-13), Associate Professor (2013-14), Assistant Professor Doctor (2014-15) and Contracted Professor Doctor (2015-2019) in the Physics Department of the UIB, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He currently holds a position as Full Professor at the UIB's Department of Industrial Engineering and Construction.

He teaches in the Degree in Industrial and Automatic Electronic Engineering in the subjects Hydraulic Machines, Thermoenergetic Engineering, and Renewable Energies. He also teaches in the Master of Industrial Engineering in the subjects Machines and Thermal Engines and Technology of Hydraulic Machines.

His research focuses on concentrating solar energy, solar optics, and photovoltaic cells. He is the inventor of two international patents and is the author of more than 50 publications including articles and presentations at conferences. He has participated in more than 15 competitive R&D projects and has collaborated in various contracts with companies in the field of technology transfer. Principal Investigator of the OTSun Project, free software for the optical analysis of solar collector systems.

He is a member of the Committee of Experts on the Energy Transition and Climate Change of the Balearic Islands.

Since July 2021 he has been deputy director of the Polytechnic School and head of studies of the Degree in Industrial and Automatic Electronic Engineering.
