Brief CV
Gabriel Cardona (Maó, 1972) got his degree in Mathematics (1996), in Telecommunications Engineer (1997) and PhD in Mathematics (2002) from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya  BarcelonaTech (UPC).
He was part of the Department of Applied Mathematics II (UPC) between 1996 and 2000 with a grant from Research Training. Since 2000 is a member of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Universitat de les Illes Balears, being at present an Associate Professor.
His research activity began devoted to Number Theory, and is currently framed in the field of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. This research has been reflected in the publication of more than 20 articles in international journals and participation in projects with national and European funding. The list of publications is accessible in Google Scholar.
He has taught more than 15 courses in undergraduate and graduate studies in mathematics, computer science and telematics, mainly in the field of algebra and discrete mathematics.
Since March 2015 he is assistant director of the Higher Polytechnic School and head of studies of Mathematics.
