Javier Antich Tobaruela received a bachelor's degree in ''computer engineering: computer systems specialty'' in 1998, a bachelor's degree in ''computer engineering: computer management specialty'' in 1999, and a master's degree in computer engineering in 2001, all of them from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). In 2012, he completed his PhD in computer science at UIB with a thesis entitled ''new reactive and path-planning methods for mobile robot navigation''. Currently ---year 2015---, he has more than 14 years of experience in teaching and research tasks. Regarding teaching, he has taught introductory computer and microcontroller programming courses in several bachelor's degrees at UIB such as computer engineering and industrial engineering. Regarding research, his main interest lies in robotics and, more specifically, in the proposal of new algorithms of obstacle avoidance and path-planning for mobile robots. To date, as a result of his research activity, he has published seven articles in international journals, five book chapters, and more than 20 articles in international conferences.
