Miquel Beltrán is full professor on moral philosophy. He has read his doctoral dissertation in 1990. He has been awarded fellowships to work at the Università degli Studi di Venezia, during two years, and another one from the Human Capital and Mobility Programma of the Commission of the European Communities, in Paris, also for two years. He has been also awarded fellowships from the Netherlands Foundation for International Cooperation, the Camoes Institute, and other public and private institutions. He has published books on Spinoza (Un espejo extraviado, 1998), Maimonides (El Dios de Maimonides, 2005, co-author) and edited the volume Judaísmo y límites de la modernidad. He has also been the editor, in 2015, of the Kabbalistic work Puerta del cielo, originally written in Spanish, published by Trotta. He has also written a book intitled The influence of Abraham Cohen de Herrera's Kabbalah on Spinoza's Metaphysics, published in 2016 by Brill. He has been awarded, to writhe this last book, a fellowship from the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, New York. He has published more than sixty articles on Spinoza and many other medieval and early modernity thinkers, in journal as Rivista di filosofia neo-scolastica, Archives de philosophie, North American Spinoza Monographs, Medievalia, Acta Comeniana, Revista filosófica de Coimbra, Anuario filosófico, and many other. He has been chief researcher of 4 national research projects.
