Brief CV
Dr. Laura Ferrer is professor in the area of Analytical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry of the UIB, and research group leader of Environmental Analytical Chemistry. Since 2011 she is the Director of the Laboratory of Environmental Radioactivity - LaboRA of the UIB, and responsible for the agreement with the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) to carry out the Environmental Radiological Surveillance Program. Since 2024, she has been the director of the Master's Degree in Environmental Radiological Protection taught by 7 Spanish Universities. Her main line of research is the methodological development for the determination of contaminants in environmental samples, especially radionuclides, and environmental studies on their presence and distribution. She has been the principal investigator for 4 R+D+i projects and has participated as a member of the research team in 21 R+D+i projects, all financed in competitive public calls (state and regional). She is co-author of more than 60 articles published in indexed journals, 5 book chapters, and two books. She has supervised 8 doctoral theses. She has accredited 3 six-year research periods and 4 five-year teaching periods.
