Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences Doctor of Science from the UIB (1986), she began her teaching activity as a professor responsible for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate subjects in 1987. She is the director of the Multidisciplinary Group of Translational Oncology of the IdISBa, and member of the group Energy Metabolism and Nutrition of the UIB.

Main research line: study of energy metabolism in different physiopathological situations: cancer, aging, obesity.

Her scientific career has been recognized with 5 research terms (6-year period) by Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte of the Spanish Government and the Retributive Supplement of the Research Activity and Excellence, funded by the Government of Balearic Islands.
