Brief CV
Catalina Juaneda holds a degree and a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona (1981 and 1987). She was an Assistant Professor at the University of Barcelona (1981-1989) and at the University of the Balearic Islands (1989-1992). Since 1993 she is a Chair Professor of Applied Economics at the UIB. She held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business and Director of the Department of Applied Economics (). During the period 2007-2013 she was Vice-Rector of International Relations of the UIB. Regarding her teaching experience she has specialized in the field of Statistics and Econometrics and also in the quantitative methods applied to the analysis of tourism. She has taught in several degrees from the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Tourism. In turn, she has been director of the Master and Doctorate in Tourism and Environmental Economics. Her research activity has focused mainly on several aspects of Tourism Economics (demand models, consumer behavior models, repetition, etc.) and Tourism Education. Her works have been published in journals such as Tourism Economics, Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Tourism Review, Applied Economics Studies, Anatolia and Tourism Education. She has been director of several research projects granted in competitive calls at Balearic and national scope.
