    Brief CV

Claudio R. Mirasso is Full Professor at the Physics Department, Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), Palma de Mallorca, Spain and researcher of the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFSIC, UIB-CSIC). He received the Ph.D. in physics from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina, in 1989. He has held post-doctoral positions in Spain and the Netherlands. He has authored or co-authored over 160 journal papers, with more than 6400 citations. He was coordinator of the FET Open Projects OCCULT (Optical Chaos Communications using Laser-diode Transmitters, IST-2000-29683) and PHOCUS (towards a PHOtonic liquid state machine based on delay-CoUpled Systems, FP7-ICT-240763). His current research interests include neuronal circuits and dynamics, biomedical time series analysis, information processing, neuro-inspired photonic devices, and applications of nonlinear dynamics in general.
