Catalina Picó is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Principal Investigator of the Nutrigenomics, Biomarkers and Risk Evaluation (NuBE) group of the UIB, of the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) and of the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Fisiopatología de la Obesidad y Nutrición (CIBEROBN), and Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Nutrition and Biotechnology (LBNB) of the UIB. In the UIB, She has been Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (2020-23) and is currently co-director of the Master's Degree in Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition (2022-). She has been member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (Comité Científico de la Agencia Española de Consumo, Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición, AECOSAN) (2011-15). Her main topics of research are in the field of obesity, metabolic programming, nutrigenomics and personalised nutrition, the relationship between food and health, and the identification of biomarkers of health and disease. She is the Coordinator of the European project INTEGRActiv (JPI HDHL, 2022-25).
