Brief CV
Alexandre Garcia Mas, PhD, is Professor of Basic Psychology since 1992, at University of the Balearic Islands. Before he taught in the School of Nursing (1982-1985), and as a part-time professor at the UIB (1985-1990) and interim (1990-1992) in Psychometrics, History of the Psychology and Biological Foundations of Personality. Nowadays, he teaches Cognitive Ergonomics and Psychology of Physical Activity and Sport Degree in Psychology; Basic Psychological Processes in Education degree, and Sleep, Dreams and their disorders, at the Neuroscience Official Máster (UIB). Finally, is professor at the Postgraduate Psychology of Physical Activity and Sport of several universities: National University of Distance Education; Universidad Autónoma de Madrid; and the College of Psychologists of Valencia.
He directed the Laboratory of Son Joan March Hospital (1991-2003); is the Editor in Chief of the Revista de Psicología del Deporte (included in ISI-JCR) (1992-); co-director of the Masters in Sports Psychology at the UIB and the Universidad Central de Chile, and holds the position of Secretary General at the International Society of Sport Psychology.
He has directed nine theses (1999-2014); and have recognized three six-year terms of research (the last one: 2004-2011). He pertains at the UIB Group of Research and Development of Physical Activity and Sport (GICAFE). He has obtained the recognition of their teaching and research qualification from AQUIB (2009 and 2010). He has participated as a researcher in 15 competitive national and regional projects, and currently enjoys an I+D+i studying workload of pilot combat helicopters, and an Erasmus+ (PsyTool, addressed to Train Agents for positive change in sport).
