Brief CV

Antònia Morey Tous (Mallorca, 1963): PHD in history, professor of history and economic institutions in the Department of Applied Economics of the University of the Balearic Islands and member of the Economic History Group. Her research focuses mainly on agrarian and social history, a field in which her studies on the repercussions of the Liberal Reform and access to property by new social groups are particularly notable. Currently she is part of a research team coordinated by the University of Girona (R. Congost) entitled Ni élites ni pobres. Middle classes and social change in historical perspective (HAR 2014-54891). Her main publications are in the same line of research: the study of the dynamics of change from the perspective of comparative regional history. From the chronological point of view they range from the 18th century to the decade of 1950/60, when the new Balearic agrarian model is already fully consolidated on the basis of the export of arboreal commercial crops. She has published papers in JCR and Scopus journals in the field and has participated as researcher in grant-funded R&D projects of the CYCIT (National R+D+I Programme) and of the Regional Government.
