Brief CV

Carlos Juan Clar (Palma, 1959) graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Barcelona (June 1982) and received a PhD in Biology from the University of the Balearic Islands (July 1988). Lecturer of Genetics (1999) and since 2009 Full Professor of Genetics at the UIB in the Department of Biology. He was post-doctoral fellow at the University os East Anglia (UK) in the 1990 and from 1994 to 1995 (Fellow of the Human Resources and Mobility Program of the Europan Union). Visiting professor at the University of South Australia (Australia), University of East Anglia (UK) and Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing (China) during the 2009-10 academic year.

Author of 86 scientific papers, 72 in indexed scientitic journlas (Publons, Web of Science) and researcher or PI in 22 scientific financed projects.

Scientific interests: Evolutionary biology, Molecular Systematics, Biogeography, Molecular Evolution.
