Brief CV

Miquela Forteza Oliver -–professor in the Department of Historical Sciences and Theory of the Arts at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) with three six-year research periods and five teaching periods– holds a PhD in Art History from the UIB (2005). Her thesis La xilografía en Mallorca a través de sus colecciones. La Imprenta Guasp (1576-1958) highlighted the importance and significance of the Guasp Collection, and led to it being declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) and obtaining legal recognition in the category of museum collection. One of his lines of research derives from the aforementioned thesis, which has led to the publication of books, articles and communications at conferences, focusing on the world of the graphic arts, especially on historical, stylistic and iconographic aspects. On the other hand, he has been developing another line of research linked to the study, scientific advice and dissemination in the field of conservation of religious artistic heritage. She has also carried out several studies and has participated in projects on museums, heritage and cultural tourism, and is director of the Cultural Tourism Laboratory of the UIB:Personal website: http://www.xilos.org/
