Brief CV
José-Luis Groizard is a University Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the UIB, where he teaches classes in International Economics and Macroeconomics. He obtained his doctorate and bachelor's degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since then he has been a researcher and visiting professor at numerous foreign universities, including the University of Oxford and the University of California, Irvine. His research is framed in the field of International Economy, Economic Growth and Development. He is the Principal Investigator of the International Economics Research Group and coordinates the Master in Tourism Economics: Monitoring and Evaluation. His works have been published in prestigious international journals, such as European Economic Review, Economic Inquiry, The World Economy, Economic Modeling, Journal of Development Studies, and in national journals of wide impact. Likewise, he has edited several books on the effects of globalization on economic development. He has advised the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Senate on the effects of insularity on the economy and has contributed to the Special Regime of the Balearic Islands.
