Brief CV

Gelabert Ferrer Bernadí, degree in Geology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1986), postgraduate diploma of the International Course on Groundwater Hydrology from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (1996 ), doctor in Geology from the University of Barcelona (1997) and professor Geodynamics at the University of the Balearic Islands (since 2003).
I have been visiting foreign universities: Princeton University, New Jersey (1992 ), Rice University, Houston (1993 ) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge (1994 ).
Leader research, from 2008 to 2012, of the project CGL2008-05724 of the Ministry of Education and Science entitled ' The meaning of the Balearic Promontory : the eastern margin of the Iberian Plate, Western Mediterranean'.
My research focuses on issues of geomorphology, hydrology and tectonics. My best publications in the past four years are as follows :

Gelological structure and evolution of Majorca: Implications for the origin of the western Mediterranean. Authors: F. Sŕbat, B. Gelabert, A. Rodríguez-Perea, J. Giménez. Tectonophysics, 510, p. 217-238 (2011).

Risk Assessment of Beach-Dune System Erosion: Beach Management Impacts on the Balearic Islands. Authors: F.X. Roig-Munar, J.A. Martin-Prieto, A. Rodríguez-Perea, G.X. Pons, B. Gelabert, M. Mir-Gual. Journal of Coastal Research, 28, 6, p. 1488-1499 (2012).

Evolution of the Western Mediterranean. Chapter 12 of 'Regional Geology and Tectonics: Phanerozoic Passive Margins, Cratonic Basins and Global Tectonic Maps'. Authors: E. Carminati, C. Doglioni, B. Gelabert, G.F. Panza, R.B. Raykova, E. Roca, F. Sŕbat, D. Scrocca. Elsevier. (2012).
