Brief CV

Andreana Pastena is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands in the field of English Philology. She holds a cum laude PhD with international distinction from Pompeu Fabra University (2022) and has been a Marie Curie postdoctoral researcher at the University of Warwick (EUTOPIA-SIF COFUND). Her research focuses on learning, intercultural interactions, and language policies in internationalized universities. Her dissertation received the Guadalupe Aguado Award from AESLA, and she has published in high-impact scientific journals. She has participated in over 15 international conferences and has been involved in organizing academic events. Additionally, she is a peer reviewer for scientific journals in higher education and applied linguistics and coordinates the "ECR - Research with International Students" network. In teaching, she has experience in university-level instruction in English and has contributed to innovative teaching projects. She has also developed initiatives to raise awareness of gender and multilingualism, including the creation of the educational board game LaleoLAB.
