Dr. Parcero has been a Visiting Professor of the Department of Applied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands since October 2022. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Bristol (UK). His Ph.D. thesis was awarded the first prize in a European doctoral thesis competition (¿6,000), Committee of the Regions, EU (2006). Since his graduation, he has been a Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews (Scotland), a Visiting Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), an Assistant Professor at the United Arab Emirates University (UAE), and an Associate Professor at the International School of Economics at the Kazakh-British Technical University. He is also a Research Affiliate at the "Centre for Research into Industry, Enterprise, Finance & the Firm" (Scotland).

Dr. Parcero is an active and collaborative researcher with theoretical and empirical papers. He has applied different approaches, such as traditional microeconomics, game theory, applied econometrics, and simulations. He has covered a broad spectrum of fields, including tax competition, industrial economics, development economics, international economics, foreign direct investment, and research and innovation. In 2011 Dr. Parcero was awarded a United Arab Emirates National Research Foundation Grant ($185,000).
