Brief CV

Pere Garau (Selva, 1997) holds a degree in Catalan Language and Literature from the University of the Balearic Islands and a master's degree in Catalan Language and Literature: Knowledge and Critical Analysis of Intangible Heritage from the same university. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Philology and Philosophy, specializing in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, at the University of the Balearic Islands under the supervision of Dr. Nicolau Dols. His dissertation is titled La variabilitat rítmica del decasílˇlab catalā. His main line of research is Catalan metrics, although he has also published work on mode-shifting (oral-written) in subtitling. He is a researcher on the Corpus Oral de la Llengua Catalana (COLC) project at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans. At the UIB, he works as a technician at the Cātedra Ramon Llull, a position he combines with university teaching in the Catalan Language and Literature undergraduate program. Since 2021, he has served as secretary of the Associaciķ de Joves Investigadors en Llengua i Literatura Catalanes (AJILLC).
