Maria Grau Perejoan is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of the Balearic Islands. She holds a doctoral degree in Cultural Studies with an emphasis on Caribbean Literature and Literary Translation from the University of Barcelona, and an MPhil in Cultural Studies from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago. Her primary research is in Caribbean Literature and Literary Translation and she has published book chapters and articles in national and international journals on both areas. Her forthcoming book The Sea Needs No Ornament/ El mar no necesita ornamento. A Bilingual Anthology of Contemporary Caribbean Women Poets (Peepal Tree Press, 2020) co-edited and co-translated with Loretta Collins-Klobah, has been awarded a PEN Translates Award by the English PEN.
