Brief CV
Assumpció Rost is associated professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her research interests are Phonetics and Phonology of the Romance languages (with special regard to Spanish), and sound variation and change explained through Experimental Phonetics, Dialectology and Sociolinguistics. She is working from this perspective since the defence of her PhD on May 2011. The results of her research have been published in specialized scientific journals and book chapters since she began her scientific career on 2004.
Her teaching activity started as part of her predoctoral scholarship holder duties at the Universitat de Girona (Girona, Spain), and later on continued as part time instructor in the same institution. From September 2012 until January 2024, she has been teaching both in Degree and Master studies at the University of the Balearic Islands. She has taught courses on Spanish Phonetics and Phonology, Historical Grammar, History of Spanish Language or Introduction to Spanish Grammar. She has also given lectures in the Phonetic Sciences Master program held by the CSIC (Madrid, Spain). She is currently developing her career in the Departamento de Filología Española at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
