Brief CV
Holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences by the Universitat de Lleida (2013) and an M.Sc. in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine by the University of Edinburgh (2014). She pursued her doctoral studies at the Wellcome-Wolfson Center for Experimental Medicine (Queen’s University Belfast) and obtained her PhD in stem cell-based disease models in 2018. She then moved to the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (University of Cambridge) to join the laboratory of Professor Ludovic Vallier to develop a human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-based in vitro model of the cystic fibrosis (CF) airway epithelium. In 2020, she secured a highly competitive Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship to study the role of newly discovered pulmonary ionocytes in the airway and in the physiopathology of CF using hiPSC-derived airway epithelial cells (hiPSC-AECs). In 2024, she joined the TERCIT group through the Roche Farma-funded program “Stop fuga de cerebros” to explore the potential of hiPSC-AECs in cell therapy applications for respiratory disease. That same year, she secured a distinguished lecturer and researcher position at the University of the Balearic Islands through a Beatriz Galindo Junior Fellowship.
