Brief CV
Dr. Edwin Palacio holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences, with a specialization in Environmental Analytical Chemistry, from Aix-Marseille University (France), officially recognized by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). He is currently an Associate Professor in the area of Analytical Chemistry within the Department of Chemistry and a member of the Environmental Analytical Chemistry Research Group.
He is co-author of more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in international Journal Citation Reports (JCR) journals and two international patents. He has participated in over 20 national and international research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) and the Government of the Balearic Islands, as well as in several knowledge-transfer contracts with companies and public institutions from the Balearic region.
His research interest is focused on (i) the development of sample preparation and analytical methods for the determination of trace, ultratrace and radiochemical elements and (ii) the implementation of environmental studies on the presence and distribution of pollutants.
