Jaume Verd (BSc. in Telecomunications from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and PhD Eng. in Electronics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) is Full Professor of Electronics and researcher at the Electronic Systems Group (GSE-UIB). Since 2001 he has been teaching several subjects in Engineering and Physics degrees both at UAB and at UIB. The current and medium-term scientific-technical objectives are directed towards an exploitation of the potential applications of CMOS-MEMS devices for the development of compact systems-on-chip (SoC) mainly oriented to biosensing applications and chaos-based secure communications.
