Specific Skills

  1. Knowing and understanding the morphology, physiology, pathology, and behaviour of both ill and healthy people in natural and social settings.
  2. Knowing and understanding the sciences, models, techniques, and instruments on which physiotherapy is based, articulated, and developed.
  3. Knowing and understanding the methods, procedures, and activities in physiotherapy aimed at therapy itself, which is applied in clinics for physical rehabilitation or recovery, and at undertaking activities that promote and maintain health.
  4. Acquiring the proper clinical experience that provides intellectual, technical, and manual skills, promoting the inclusion of ethical and professional values, and developing the ability to integrate acquired knowledge so that at the end of the degree programme, students know how to apply them to both specific clinical cases in hospitals and out-patients' departments and to interventions in primary and community healthcare.
  5. Assessing the functional condition of patients, taking into account physical, psychological, and social aspects.
  6. Making a diagnosis for physiotherapy treatment according to internationally recognised validation standards and tools.
  7. Designing physiotherapy intervention plans according to appropriateness, validity, and effectiveness.
  8. Performing, supervising, and coordinating the physiotherapy treatment plan, using the correct therapeutic tools in line with users' individual requirements.
  9. Assessing the evolution of the results obtained from treatment and linking them to the objectives set.
  10. Producing the physiotherapy treatment release report once the proposed goals are met.
  11. Providing effective physiotherapy treatment and comprehensive care for patients.
  12. Playing a role in areas of health promotion, prevention, protection, and recovery.
  13. Knowing how to work in a professional team as a core unit where professionals and other staff from healthcare bodies work in a single-, multi-, or inter-disciplinary way.
  14. Incorporating the profession's ethical and legal principles into professional practice, as well as integrating social and community aspects into decision-making.
  15. Taking part in the production of evidence-based physiotherapy care protocols, promoting professional activities that invigorate physiotherapy research.
