My main research line focuses on the study of plant-pollinator interactions and their ecosystem function in natural and managed landscapes. On the basis of this main line I develop three specific topics: (1) Anthropogenic changes on pollinator diversity and pollination ecology; (2) Local context on pollination specialization, plant reproductive success and the evolution of floral traits; and (3) Crop pollination. I graduated in Environmental Sciences in 2000 (University of Almeria, Spain), studies for which I received the Second National Award for Bs. Studies (Spanish Ministry of Education). After obtaining my PhD in 2005 (FPU; University of the Balearic Islands, UIB, Spain), I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway (2006-2010, 2015), University of the Aegean, Greece (2014-2015), and IMEDEA, Spain (2011- 2014, 2015-2016), where I currently work as a Ramón y Cajal researcher since 2017. Until date, I have published more than 60 scientific works. I received an AEET Award for Young Researchers and I have participated in 15 national and 7 international (2 European) research projects being the PI of 6 of them, including two of the Spanish National Call (2017 and 2020). I am actively involved in scientist assessment and dissemination activities, and belong to several scientific societies (AEET, BES, ESA), being co-founder member of IBAGRECO (AEET).
