Brief CV
Ivan Solivellas holds a degree in Catalan Language and Literature from the Universitat de les Illes Balears (2015) and a PhD in Translation and Language Sciences from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2021). He has also completed official master's degrees in Teacher Training (Universitat de les Illes Balears, 2016) and Humanities: contemporary art, literature and culture (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, 2017). Before joining the UIB, he taught at the Universitat de Barcelona (2017-2018 and 2021-2022) and at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he held a predoctoral researcher contract (2018-2021) and a Margarita Salas postdoctoral researcher contract (2022-2023). Although his initial research focused on lexicology, specifically on the study of prefixal particles and the classification of the morphological continuum, he is currently dedicated to critical sociolinguistics and critical discourse studies, with a special interest in linguistic ideologies and the intersection between language, politics and society.
